The 2025 Toyota Crown is Available in North Brunswick

What's New for the 2025 Toyota Crown?

After a long wait, the Toyota Crown finally gets a Nightshade trim to its lineup. The Nightshade will swap the model's usual chrome exterior trimming for black accents. The Crown Nightshade will also get matte black 21-inch wheels and a black leather interior. Also, there will only be two color options - Black and Storm Cloud, a blue-gray shade.

Performance

Every new Crown comes equipped with a hybrid powertrain. Models like the XLE, Limited, and Nightshade use a 2.5-liter four-cylinder and three electric motors to generate 236 hp. Meanwhile, the top-spec Platinum gets a more powerful Hybrid Max setup, pairing a turbocharged 2.4-liter four-cylinder with an electric motor on the rear axle for a combined 340 horsepower.

All-wheel drive is standard on every trim, but only the XLE, Limited, and Nightshade have a continuously variable automatic transmission (CVT). The Platinum uses a six-speed automatic. With these setups, the Platinum offers solid acceleration, reaching 60 mpg in 5.1 seconds. The other trims are slightly slower, reaching the same speed in 7.2 seconds.

In the EPA estimation, the Crown is fuel efficient regardless of the engine equipped. The base hybrid can get around 42 mpg in the city and 41 mpg on the highway. While the Platinum model's more powerful powertrain delivers around 29 mpg city and 32 mpg highway.

Design

The Crown offers a sleek yet simplified exterior design with a long thing headlight that stretches the length of the grille. As for the interior, the design is appropriately premium. All Crown models come standard with eight-way power-adjustable front seats with heat, dual-zone automatic climate control, and ambient interior lighting. The driving position has also been raised, offering a height more akin to a compact SUV's. For a more luxurious experience, higher trims like the Limited and Platinum add features like a panoramic sunroof, leather upholstery, and ventilated front seats.

Technology

Throughout the various trims of the new Toyota Crown is an abundance of tech to keep drivers entertained. For example, there's a standard 12.3-inch touchscreen running on Toyota's latest software interface, and it offers wireless Apple CarPlay/Android Auto. Also coming standard are a wireless charging pad and a six-speaker sound system. On models like the Limited and Platinum, an 11-speaker JBL stereo is offered.

Safety

Toyota is known for equipping its vehicles with a host of standard driver-assistance features, and it's why the Crown features many as standard. There's automated emergency braking, adaptive cruise control, lane-keeping assist, and automatic high-beam headlamps that can all be found on the base trim. A head-up display, surround-view camera, and an advanced parking system are available in higher models.
